Catherine talks about their research which investigates the design process when professionals are designing robots and in which extent they involve users in this process. Often there is a lack of involvement of the effected stakeholders which impairs the quality of the robots. In her view it’s important to involve both users and ethnographers in the process to get an optimal results.
In this episode, Ada Stein talks with Marianne Andersen, RoboInsights. RoboInsigths is a company that seeks to help small and medium-sized companies who are interested in new technology to embrace it. Another goal of the company is to recognise and encourage women interested in robots and new technology and with a focus on how we can design optimal solutions. They offer events with focus on robotics, AI etc. in a language that everybody can understand.
Marianne talks about the importance of bringing diversity to the table by involving both genders in the designing process to get the best result.
